Pros:
- Very well-built. It is made out of some thick, solid material.
- Holds my 14LB Dell U2410 without a sweat. There are no signs of bending or stress.
- Adjusts very easily and flexibly. It has a 360 degree rotation, a 45 degree pan, and a 45 degree tilt that doesn't drift once you tighten the friction bolt to the right resistance.
Cons:
- I wish it had a way to also be mounted on a vertical surface. My desk has a rear shield to keep things from falling off, that is vertical. So, I was forced to create a custom bracket out of some bolts, elbow brackets, and a chunk of 2x4 wood.
- Pipe threads have stoppers in them and if you do not remove them beforehand you may scrape up your threads.
- This mount will strain the hell out of any cheaply made desk... especially with 2 heavy monitors. I wouldn't trust the particle-board desk I have to hold a second monitor on such a small stress point.
Verdict:
This is a very effective method of mounting a pair of monitors onto your desk. It saves space, keeps your head at the proper viewing level by adding a lot of height to your monitor, and is adjustable to perfect precision for your particular viewing angle needs. When threading the pipe, MAKE SURE you unscrew the allen-socket stoppers in the threads or you may grind the threads of the pipe before you even set the thing up.
Just revived the product and I must say, its a great product for the price and performs much better than expected. The packaging the product arrived in was nice and compact, everything was well organized, instructions were clear, and construction should have been simple.
The materials have a hefty weight to them and inspire confidence. The arms are long and adaptable enough to provide options in regards to angle and positioning of the attached monitors without causing the monitor to protrude to far forward. (Currently using a 29 inch Ultrawide monitor on the bottom and a 24 inch wide screen monitor on the top.)
